UPDATE: MLS Attendance Continues Growth in Week 26; Up 0.53% to 18,226

MLS week 26 average attendance is 20,172. The regular season average has increased 0.53% to 18,226 from 18,130 last week. Stadiums were 84.8% filled throughout the week, increasing to 84.1% of capacity for the season. Four matches were sold out this week – Portland Timbers versus Real Salt Lake at JELD-WEN Field, Montreal Impact versus Houston Dynamo at Stade Saputo, Vancouver Whitecaps versus Los Angeles Galaxy at BC Place, and Seattle Sounders versus Portland Timbers at CenturyLink Field.

The attendance of 67,385 at CenturyLink Field for the match between Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers is the 2nd-largest single-game crowd in MLS history. The inaugural Los Angeles Galaxy and NY/NJ MetroStars had 69,255 in 1996.
