Premier League Attendance Falls by -7.08% from Previous Week

Barclays Premier League week 4 average attendance came in at 36,466, the lowest of the season thus far and a -7.08% decline versus the previous week. Attendance declined more than the change in home team stadium capacity from week 3 to week 4, which was down -2.58%. Average stadium fill capacity decreased -3.56 pts versus week 3, coming in at 91.75%. Premier League attendance may have suffered as a result of the start of the UEFA Champions League last week, among other factors, which may have lightened fans’ wallets and some couldn’t afford two games in one week.
