Ajax Training Facility Destroyed by Storm

The newly built Adidas miCoach complex of Eredevise superclub Ajax was destroyed by a storm early Monday morning.  The inflatable dome was built in 2011 and reportedly cost $4,140,000 (€3 million).  Players entered the complex only to discover the sides of the training hall were already dented inwards due to high winds.  Manager Frank de Boer cancelled the training session and players left the grounds as a precaution.  Within 45 minutes of leaving the complex, the dome collapsed due to wind.   The storm also forced a goal to fall over.  No one was hurt during the incident.

According to pictures which surfaced online, the training hall appears to have ripped and deflated.  Both the first team and the reserve side train at the facility.  Ajax face amateur club ASWH FC on Tuesday in the KNVB Beker Cup.  No alternate plans for training have been made and the club has not released any additional information about the event.
