DC United Announce Partnership with Sunderland AFC – (DC United)EJSunderland

The most successful team in MLS history, DC United, announced a partnership agreement with the Barclay’s Premier League club Sunderland AFC on Friday. Sunderland represents the second international club partnership for the DC club following the partnership with Inter Milan.  The agreement with Sunderland itself involves the exchange of both business and technical practices and the club says joint ventures in both the US and UK are in the works.

As far as Europe goes, most, if not all the betting has to do with soccer and recently, a “shadow game” occurred.  This is where a game and score is observed between two teams, but the teams themselves never actually played each other. Brazilian Club Botafogo Have Assests Frozen – (Bloomberg)Botafogo

Rio Based club Botafogo are in financial turmoil.  The club has debts exceeding 700 million reais ($307 million) and which resulted in the club being unable to pay its players and the Brazilian government has now frozen 100% of the club’s assets.  Financial mismanagement is but one of the club’s problems.
