MLS week 1 average attendance is 21,132 compared to the opening week of the 2018 season which averaged 23,731. Stadiums were 92.28% filled throughout the week, compared to 99.1% last season.

Five matches were sold out this week— Orlando City SC versus New York City FC at Orlando City Stadium, Vancouver Whitecaps FC versus Minnesota United FC at BC Place, Seattle Sounders FC versus FC Cincinnati at CenturyLink Field, San Jose Earthquakes versus Montreal Impact at Avaya Stadium, and Los Angeles FC versus Sporting Kansas City at Banc of California Stadium.
